What data Living Lanzarote collects — and what it does not.

In short

We use no analytics, we profile nobody and we set no cookies of our own. You can read the magazine without telling us who you are and without clicking any consent banner.

What stays on your device

The site remembers two things only, in browser storage rather than in a cookie: whether you prefer the light or dark look, and whether you have already dismissed the invitation to install the site as an app. They never leave your device, they never reach us, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes them.

Who sees your IP address

As with any website, opening a page means your IP address reaches whoever serves it. In our case:

Netlify (United States), which hosts the site and logs requests to run it and keep it secure.

Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces: your IP reaches Google's servers on every visit. We are working to serve the fonts from here and remove this step too.

open-meteo.com, but only on the beaches page, which asks for live wind and wave data.

YouTube, only on a few old pages with an embedded video, and in the version that writes no cookies until you press play.

If you write to us

If you email the newsroom, your address and message stay in our mailbox for as long as they are needed to reply and to keep a record. We use them for nothing else and pass them to nobody. The newsletter form simply opens your own mail program: it goes through no server of ours.

Your rights

You may ask what data of yours we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to redazione@livinglanzarote.com. If we do not reply, or the reply does not satisfy you, you may contact the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
