The Visual Music Festival skips 2026 and considers going biennial

The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa is working on a new phase for the Visual Music Festival, one of the island's most recognisable cultural events. The stated aim is to strengthen its artistic quality and distinctiveness.
As part of that rethink, the festival will not hold an edition during 2026.
The option on the table
The Culture department is weighing a biennial cycle: fewer editions, but more time to plan and produce. Several European festivals have made the same call when an annual rhythm began to tell on quality.
