Arrecife has entered the central week of the Fiestas de San Ginés 2026, the celebrations honouring the patron saint that have shaped August in the capital for over a century. The programme runs all month and mixes liturgy, live music and neighbourhood events around the Charco de San Ginés.

Today, Friday 14 August, belongs to the San Ginés Rock Festival, one of the longest-running fixtures on the bill. It starts at 21:00 at Parque Islas Canarias, admission free. On stage: Rat-Zinger, Underground, Kombustible, Galiot, Drupe and Jayra.

The headline act comes on Saturday 15 August. At 21:00, on the esplanade of the Recinto Ferial, Pablo Alborán brings his KM0 Global Tour to Lanzarote.

Getting around

If you are driving, allow extra time: the centre is partly closed during evening events and the areas around the Recinto Ferial are cleared from the afternoon. From Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise, the reinforced bus services are the better bet.

The religious celebrations culminate on 25 August, San Ginés day, with the procession down to the Charco.
