LagOmar, the house carved into a quarry that Omar Sharif lost at cards

LagOmar sits in Nazaret, in the municipality of Teguise, inside a former volcanic quarry. It is not a house built on the rock: it is carved into it, with caves, galleries, natural terraces and gardens that open unexpectedly along the route.
It is known as Omar Sharif's house thanks to the island's most repeated anecdote: the actor, filming here, fell for it and bought it — and, the story goes, lost it soon after in a game of bridge.
How to visit
Open daily from 10am to 6pm. General admission covers everything: house, gardens, terraces, tunnels and viewpoints.
There is also a guided visit and an option that opens before public hours, in groups of no more than ten: it is meant for seeing the place in silence, and it is the only way to have it almost to yourself.
