Teguise opens 90,000 euros in grants for its Socio-Cultural Centres

The Ayuntamiento de Teguise has opened the application period for its 2026 grant scheme aimed at the municipality's socio-cultural centres. The programme carries a total budget of 90,000 euros and is designed to fund projects, activities, supplies and services linked to the annual programming of these venues. Applications close on 31 August.

These centres are the working heart of village life across the municipality, from the inland hamlets to the coastal settlements, and they run activities throughout the year rather than only in the summer season. Mayor Olivia Duque described them as "spaces of encounter, participation and coexistence that help keep an active programme going all year round".

The aim of the scheme, Duque added, is to "support the effort made by the associations and groups that keep these spaces alive", so they can continue offering activities of interest to local residents.

Councillor for Finance Javier Díaz said the call provides direct backing to the local associative network, offering "resources so they can drive their projects forward and meet the needs of each village". He also urged applicants to help speed up the process: "It is essential to have the collaboration of the groups, both in meeting deadlines and in submitting the required documentation in full and in order".

What the grants cover

Funding applies to activities of public utility or social interest carried out within the municipality of Teguise. The call sets coverage of up to 70% for activities such as workshops or training courses, and up to 60% for maintenance costs. For anyone involved in running one of these centres, the practical point is timing: with the deadline days away, checking that the file is complete matters as much as the content of the proposal.
