Tonight Arrecife takes to the streets again: Evaristo and Def Con Dos, four stages and the yellow finger pointing the way

Friday 2 October is one of the big nights of Arrecife en Vivo: a pasacalles night, meaning the marching band that walks and pulls the crowd from one stage to the next. Every concert is free.
The times, one by one
• 6pm — Gyoza, at La Plazuela
• 7.30pm — María Iskariot, at the Charco de San Ginés
• 9pm — Def Con Dos, at Marina Lanzarote
• 10.30pm — Evaristo, at the Muelle de Cruceros
Note on that last one: access to the Muelle de Cruceros is announced as over-18s. If you have children with you, that is the stop you skip.
The yellow finger
Between concerts, the Villa Pipol pasacalles walks the audience along the route, with that raised yellow finger pointing to wherever everyone is going next — it is the image you now recognise from a distance, and it does the job of any signpost.
The full circuit is about two kilometres and strings the four stages together across the city. You are not obliged to do all of it: you can head straight to the stage you care about without starting at the first.
Getting around
On pasacalles nights the centre of Arrecife changes rhythm. Parking near the Charco de San Ginés gets harder as the evening goes on: better to leave the car further up and walk down, or come by bus.
Arrecife en Vivo closes on Saturday 10 October, with the morning given over to the island's young musicians.
