Playa Blanca: a stretch of Avenida Papagayo closed for resurfacing

Yaiza town council has closed a stretch of Avenida Papagayo in Playa Blanca to traffic from Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 August.

The section runs from the Iglesia del Carmen to the junction with Calle Maciot. The work covers resurfacing and road markings, and is the first phase of the avenue's full refurbishment.

The second phase is already under way and includes new pavements and accessibility works.

What it means on the ground

Avenida Papagayo links the centre of Playa Blanca with the beaches: closing a stretch in mid-August means diversions for residents and for anyone heading down to the sea. Allow extra time if you are passing through.
