Three towns celebrating this weekend: Arrecife, San Bartolomé and Tinajo

The weekend of 14 to 16 August concentrates much of the island's nightlife in three municipalities. The Fiestas de San Ginés in Arrecife, the patron-saint celebrations of San Bartolomé, and those of San Roque in Tinajo all fall together.
In Arrecife it opens on Friday 14 at 21:00 at Parque Islas Canarias with the 33rd San Ginés Rock Festival — one of the longest-running fixtures on the bill, free to enter.
The other two towns follow the traditional formula: parrandas, island orchestras and large open-air dances. Announced names include Las K-Narias and Toti Sanz.
Planning your weekend
Three towns celebrating at once means busy roads and no parking after nine in the evening. If you want to catch more than one, pick one per night rather than moving between them: the twenty-minute drive from Arrecife to Tinajo stretches considerably on festival nights.
