Vinyl only at Teguise's Palacio del Marqués on Sunday 23 August

On the afternoon of Sunday 23 August, the Palacio del Marqués in Teguise hosts another Domingos del Marqués, the series that brings music into the palace courtyard. This month's title says it all: Agosto n Vinyl.

DJ Azafrán and Daniele MAD take turns at the decks from 5pm to 8pm. There is one rule and it is not up for discussion: vinyl only. No files, no USB sticks, no set built on a laptop. Whatever you hear comes off a record that is turning.

The most interesting part, though, is what is asked of the audience. The invitation is explicit: bring your records, we listen to them together. Turn up with something under your arm and you stop being an audience member.

What to expect, and what to bring

Three hours of music is neither a concert nor a club night: it is the right amount of time to let a good number of records play out unhurried, as the light drops over the courtyard. If there is a record you care about — one nobody ever plays, or one you always play — this is the afternoon to dig it out.

The Palacio del Marqués is at Calle Herrera y Rojas 7, in the centre of Teguise, a short walk from the square. The town is already busy on Sundays for the market: come in the morning and you can stay and end the day here.
