August in Lanzarote is the month of the Festival de Rock de San Gines, and Cine Club Lanzarote is marking it with an evening devoted to the island's musical memory. On Saturday 29 August at 7pm, at El Almacen, the documentary Inadaptados: Rock & Roll desesperado, directed by Jose Maria de Paiz, returns to the screen after selling out at its recent premiere.

The repeat screening is a direct response to that turnout: plenty of people were left without a seat, and the film is being shown again to give them a second chance. It traces a chapter of local rock history that rarely makes it into official accounts, built around the bands that kept the scene alive with more conviction than resources.

The programme also includes the short film Las Mayorets, directed by Busky Curbelo and Marco Arrocha, devoted to another of the legendary punk bands of the local scene. Seen together, the two pieces widen the picture of those years.

The evening closes with a round table titled La cara B del rock conejero, moderated by Jonas MF, bringing together people who were part of that scene and shaped it from the inside.

Practical notes for visitors

El Almacen sits in central Arrecife, and the room is not large. Given that the first screening sold out, booking ahead is the safer option rather than turning up at the door. Both films and the discussion are in Spanish, which is worth knowing if your Spanish is limited: the archive footage and live material still carry much of the story. Starting at 7pm leaves the rest of the evening open, whether for the Festival de Rock de San Gines programme or dinner in the capital.
