Wilbur brings acrobatics and comedy to San Bartolome theatre on 27 September

The Reislas Festival, also known as the Festival de Humor 8 Islas, reaches Lanzarote on Sunday 27 September at 18:00 with the show Piensa en Wilbur. The performance takes place at the Teatro Municipal de San Bartolome, with tickets from 18 euros.

For 90 minutes, Wilbur mixes comedy, acrobatics and genuine risk, in a piece built around his physical range and around situations that are as impossible as they are absurd. The performer's own body is the main tool for getting the laugh.

He shares the stage with Contractura, Tiron y Desgarro, his inseparable companions, in a show where comedy and circus skills move together rather than taking turns. Much of the humour is visual, which makes it workable for audiences who do not speak Spanish.

Piensa en Wilbur is part of the Reislas programme, which tours different comedy shows across the eight islands of the Canary archipelago. Tickets for the San Bartolome performance are sold through Ecoentradas.

Practical notes for visitors

San Bartolome sits in the centre of the island, roughly ten minutes by car from Arrecife and close to the airport road, which makes it an easy trip from Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise or Playa Honda. Street parking around the town square is usually straightforward on a Sunday. The 18:00 start leaves the evening open, so the show can be combined with dinner back at your base. Buying tickets in advance is advisable, as the theatre is a mid-sized municipal venue rather than a large auditorium.
