Arrecife's 24 Horas basketball tournament returns on 19 and 20 September

The Titerroy arena in Arrecife brings back one of the island's historic basketball tournaments on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September: the 24 Horas, unplayed for years. The format is twelve hours of games each day, from 9am to 9pm.

There are men's and women's categories at cadet level (14 and 15), junior (16 and 17), senior and inclusive. The last is the significant addition: with it, Arrecife becomes the first 24 Horas in the Canaries to include one.

This edition is dedicated to Guillermo González Raviña, 'Dongui', a teacher and coach bound up with island sport for a lifetime. The weekend also features a three-point contest and a prize for the best performance of the tournament.

When to go

Games run all day on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, from 9am to 9pm, at the Pabellón de Titerroy. Anyone hoping to catch the finals should arrive in the late afternoon.
