Rock took over the city: and on Friday 25 it is Chambao's turn, marking twenty-five years

It worked: the first route of Arrecife en Vivo brought a crowd of all ages into the street and moved it from stage to stage behind the brass band. Four concerts, four different ways of living the same music.

At La Plazuela, Hermana Furia opened with a flat-out set from their new album. On the edge of the Charco, Galicia's The Rapants turned the square into a dancefloor. At the marina, Repion showed their craft. At the cruise pier came Ultraligera, the night's headliners, with the crowd pressed against the front rows. Holding it all together, the Artistas del Gremio band led the parade from the old town to the port, playing with everyone who walked along.

Friday 25, the second route

Next up is Friday 25 September, and it is a big night: Chambao celebrate twenty-five years, joined by Alfredo Piedrafita, guitarist with Barricada. The bill is completed by MFC Chicken, The Anger Prive and Laiv. This time the street parade is led by Psycho Clown, a percussion and street-theatre group.

As always, the concerts are free and you walk from one stage to the next.
