Einaudi at the piano inside the Castillo de San José: concert and dinner over the bay on 8 October
The Castillo de San José looks over Arrecife bay from an eighteenth-century fortress that César Manrique turned into a museum. On Thursday 8 October you can dine inside it with live music: the evening is called NaturPiano and is built around the minimalist repertoire of Ludovico Einaudi.
Who plays
Rafael Montalvo on piano, alternating Einaudi with his own compositions. With him, Laura Armas on cello and Davinia Pérez on violin — the first time the three have played together.
What you eat
The menu keeps to the island: crisp prawn on mojo emulsion, a millefeuille of smoked salmon from Uga with chutney, beef fillet with palmera pepper and, to finish, a forest tiramisu. On the table, DO Lanzarote wines.
Good to know
It starts at 8pm; the restaurant opens at 7:20pm. The evening is part of the Bahía Sonora season run by the island's art and culture centres, who advise booking: the capacity is that of a restaurant, not a concert hall.
