'Libros cruzados' next Saturday at El Salinero, and the rest of Lanzarote's autumn theatre

On Saturday 3 October at 8pm, the Teatro Víctor Fernández Gopar 'El Salinero' in Arrecife stages Libros cruzados, by the company Delirium Teatro.

It is a story about the power of literature: the way books open perspectives you could not see, provoke change, and help you face what life puts in front of you. Put like that it sounds like a good intention; on stage it is something more concrete, because theatre has the advantage of having to prove it within the hour.

The rest of the season

Libros cruzados is the second of four titles with which the Cabildo opens its stage season, after Supersaurio on 26 September. The other two:

• Friday 23 October, 8pm, at El Almacén: Vierdingo, by Esteban Garrido. A monologue that starts from humour to talk about emotions, loneliness and the modern man's difficulty in accepting himself.

• Thursday 29 October, in Haría: the traditional Noche de finados, by Actúa Teatro. It recovers Canarian legends, rituals and traditions around the dead, and makes the audience part of the piece. It is the island's way of facing 1 November, and it is far older than Halloween.
