Teguise opens its workshops for older residents: enrolment now open for 2026-2027

Teguise town hall, through its Área del Mayor, has opened enrolment for the workshops for older residents of the 2026-2027 season. Enrolment opened on 25 September at 9am.

How to enrol

The form is downloaded from the council website and must be handed in in person at the Teguise town hall registry, at Social Services, at the Costa Teguise office or at the other municipal offices.

What they are for

The workshops are part of the council's push towards what it calls a 'municipality of care': keeping people active, in contact with others and independent for as long as possible. Put less well but more honestly: they are places where you meet people, learn something and are not alone.

Mayor Olivia Duque says it is about 'making sure our older residents have the chance to stay active, take part and enjoy Teguise'. The councillor for the Área del Mayor, Nereyda González, adds that the workshops serve physical and mental wellbeing but above all social relationships — which is precisely the part no other public policy can buy.
