Charco del Palo celebrates on 2 and 3 October: a tapas contest, acrobatics and a jam session until midnight

Haría town hall is finishing preparations for the Fiestas de Charco del Palo 2026, held on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October. Two days of music, food and workshops in one of the most distinctive villages in the north.

Friday 2

The opening is at 8pm. Straight after, the band Lidia con Ello takes the stage and sets the first evening going.

Saturday 3: the full day

Saturday holds nearly everything.

• 2pm — the tapas and dessert contest begins, with the band Dushan as the soundtrack.
• 3.30pm — the winners are announced, with local band Teguibanda playing at the prize-giving.

Then it runs all afternoon. The Jardín Tropical hosts a Rummikub tournament; Karl Frierson gives a voice workshop called Soulfaktory; the Furaha team bring their acrobatics; and Catherine Roth, with Frierson, leads a Cuban dance session.

The Orquesta Informal closes the evening, followed by a jam session that carries the party through to midnight.

For children there is a play area and face-painting workshops.

Who is behind it

Mayor Alfredo Villalba calls it an occasion for neighbours to meet; the councillor for fiestas, Alberto de León, stresses that the programme is built for every age — and between Rummikub and a midnight jam session, that is a wide span.
