Arrecife's September programme: theatre, concerts and workshops across the city

Lanzarote's capital fills September with a cultural programme that spreads beyond the city centre. Events are split between the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz and several neighbourhood cultural centres, reaching Argana Baja, San Francisco Javier, Valterra and Argana Alta. The mix includes children's theatre, concerts, workshops, storytelling, talks and open-air activities, and much of it is free entry until the venue is full.

The month opens on Thursday 3 September with two events. At 18:00, the Centro Sociocultural de Argana Baja stages Único, a children's puppet show by Bolina Títeres. At 19:30, the Casa de la Cultura hosts Fusión, part of the Conciertos Hablados series, with José Eduardo Martín and Carlos Martín.

The Festival Desidia contributes the Arrecife crea arte workshops on Friday 4, Saturday 5, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 September at the Argana Baja centre. On Saturday 5 at 12:00, the Casa de la Cultura welcomes Ensemble Durón as part of Noon Arrecife 2026, a series adding three new concerts this month.

The following week alternates debate and music. On Tuesday 8 at 19:00, Argana Baja hosts the talk Potencia tu seguridad y confianza interior with Mani Modhwadia. On Wednesday 9 at 16:00, the III Encuentro Estatal de Migraciones 2026 brings the forum Convivencia, conflicto y prevención del racismo to the Casa de la Cultura, followed at 18:30 by the opening of the OBITen exhibition. On Friday 11 at 20:00, the Festival Tiempos Modernos presents Fausto with pianist Natalia Nikolaeva. New instalments of the Cuento Contigo and Sabatea: teatro en los barrios series also run through the month.

Planning around it

The same calendar flags one date outside the capital: the 37th Feria de Artesanía de Lanzarote in Mancha Blanca, Tinajo, from Thursday 10 to Tuesday 15 September, opening at 17:30 and then running daily from 10:30 to 21:30. Visitors staying in Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise can reach Arrecife easily by bus for the evening events, but note that free-entry shows work on a first-come basis: arriving fifteen to twenty minutes early at the Casa de la Cultura is the safest approach, particularly for the Saturday midday concerts.
