What it is about
The figure who held up Lanzarote's countryside and whom almost nobody names: the peasant woman. On stage are two dancers, Vanessa Medina and Ángeles Padilla, who also created the choreography and embody two generations of campesinas.
It starts from traditional Canarian dances, but this is not folklore re-enacted: the gestures and steps of tradition are taken apart and translated into a present-day language. The original score is by Benito Cabrera, master of the timple.
