On Saturday in Tías the cinema belongs to children: 'Vainilla' in the chapel, free

On Saturday morning in Tías the old chapel becomes a cinema for children. La Pantalla Chinija returns — the season run by Tenique Cultural which, after a successful May, has programmed another screening: Vainilla, an animated film recommended for ages 4 to 9, on Saturday 26 September at noon.

The film

It is a story about identity and about loving our differences, touching on family and roots with a gentle eye and without over-explaining.

The part that matters

When it ends, the lights do not simply come up: facilitator Cristina Temprano opens a conversation with the children about what they have just seen. That is the idea behind the whole season — treating children as a real audience, and teaching them to watch a screen slowly, asking questions, instead of scrolling through ten in a minute.

Free entry while seats last. Anyone with children that age knows an hour like this on a Saturday morning is worth a great deal.
