Six storytellers from four countries: 'Palabras al Vuelo' returns to the island, 8 to 18 October
Before books, before screens, there was someone telling the story. The Palabras al Vuelo International Oral Storytelling Festival lives on that, and returns to Lanzarote for its fourteenth edition, from 8 to 18 October.
Who tells
Six storytellers from four countries and two continents: Wangari, from Kenya; Pepito Mateo, from France; Simone Negrin, from Italy; Pablo Albo, from Albacete, and Estrella Escriña, from Madrid. Different languages, gestures and traditions, the same craft.
Where
Not in a single theatre: the shows travel the island between Arrecife, San Bartolomé, Tías, Haría and Yaiza, indoors and out in the landscape. Some are for adults, others for families, and there are workshops too.
How to book
Everything is free, but workshops and shows in small or natural settings require registration. Booking opens on Monday 28 September on the festival website, where the full programme is published.
